Frequently asked questions about kitchen respraying, uPVC spraying, doors, furniture and exteriors. Costs, timescales, durability, colours and more.
How much does a kitchen respray cost in Plymouth?
Most kitchens fall between £1,500 and £2,500. Smaller kitchens (10 doors) start around £900; large kitchens with islands can reach £3,500+. See the full pricing guide.
Why is your quote different from another sprayer’s?
The big variables are: how many coats are applied (we use two coats of premium topcoat over a substrate-correct primer), whether spraying happens in a workshop or on-site, what paint is used, and what the guarantee covers. Cheaper quotes often mean fewer coats, on-site only, or no real guarantee.
How long does a kitchen respray take?
Most kitchens are five days door-to-door. Day 1: we collect your doors and drawer fronts and take them to our Plympton workshop. Days 2–4: workshop spraying (prep, primer, two topcoats with cure time between each). Day 5: we return to your home, mask up, spray the carcasses and any in-situ panels, then refit the freshly sprayed doors. You keep using the kitchen throughout — only the immediate work area is off-limits at any one time.
What is your current lead time?
Around 2 months booking ahead at the moment. Get in touch as early as you can — we will give you a realistic date.
Will you spray in my home?
For kitchens and freestanding furniture we always remove and take doors and components to our Plympton workshop. The cabinet carcasses (boxes) we mask, prep and spray on-site because they cannot easily be removed. uPVC, composite doors, garage doors and cladding are sprayed entirely on-site with full masking.
Can I visit the workshop?
Yes. Get in touch to arrange — happy to show you around and our colour swatches.
What colours can I choose?
Any RAL, British Standard, Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Dulux or named-brand colour. We can match a custom paint chip you provide. No surcharge for dark or unusual colours.
Matt, satin or gloss?
Most customers go for matt or satin — they hide marks and fingerprints better and look contemporary. Gloss is striking but shows every mark and is harder to maintain.
How long does the finish last?
10–15 years with reasonable care. Backed by our 10-year paint guarantee against peeling, cracking or fading in normal home use.
Will it chip if I bash it?
The topcoat is hard-wearing but no paint is bulletproof. Significant impacts can chip any kitchen surface — including a brand-new factory-finished door. Touch-ups are quick and we leave you a small pot of touch-up paint.
Are the paints safe for kids and pets?
Yes. The paints we use indoors are water-based with zero harmful solvents. Once cured, they are completely safe.
Will the smell linger?
Water-based paints have only a faint smell during application and disappear once dry (a day or two). Far less than oil-based or solvent-based equivalents.
Can you respray vinyl-wrapped doors?
Yes. If the wrap is lifting we remove the loose vinyl first; otherwise we prime over the top.
Laminate, MDF, oak, painted timber?
All sprayable with the right primer.
Do you cover my area?
Plymouth and surrounds (Plympton, Plymstock, Saltash, Ivybridge, Tavistock), all of Devon (Exeter, Newton Abbot, Torbay) and Cornwall (Truro, Bodmin, Liskeard, Newquay, St Austell). See the full coverage map.
How do I book?
Send a few photos for an estimate. If happy, Dean visits and confirms a firm price. A small deposit secures the date; balance on completion.
